We chose to have him tackle experiments from the same perspective as a researcher\u2014rather than providing a simple tour\u2014because we are convinced that the driving force behind progress in the life sciences is the curiosity to step one step beyond the textbook. This program was launched with the vision of opening up our research environment and providing a forum for interaction with researchers, so that students are empowered to take their next step.<\/p>\n<p>We believe that the curiosity nurtured here will eventually become the power to shape a sustainable future. Our hope is to help realize a world where everyone can access high-quality education and experience the joy of learning.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"c-image -r\"><img class=\"research-diagram\" src=\"https:\/\/www.j-tec.co.jp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/Initiatives01.webp\" alt=\"Orientation\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n<section class=\"c-section\">\n<h2 class=\"c-title l2 \"><strong>iPS Cell Spheroid Culture Experience<\/strong><\/h2>\n<div class=\"c-col2 u-mb40 -half -ac\">\n<div>\n<div class=\"c-text\">\n<p><em><strong>Main Program Content<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Seeding iPS Cell Spheroids:<\/strong> cell manipulation and commencement of the experiment<\/p>\n<p><strong> Observation and Cell Counting:<\/strong> acquisition of quantitative data<\/p>\n<p><strong>Morphological Evaluation and Data Processing:<\/strong> analysis of the acquired information<\/p>\n<p><strong>Reporting of Results:<\/strong> a presentation based on discussion and interpretation of the findings<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"c-button-wrap u-mt40\"><a class=\"c-button -primary\" href=\"\/english\/life-science\/cellpet-3d-ips\/\">CellPet 3D-iPS<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"c-image -r\"><img class=\"research-diagram\" src=\"https:\/\/www.j-tec.co.jp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/Initiatives06.webp\" alt=\"Cellpet 3D-iPS\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n<section class=\"c-section\">\n<h2 class=\"c-title l2 \"><strong>Approach to the Research Process<\/strong><\/h2>\n<div class=\"c-col2 u-mb40 -half -ac\">\n<div>\n<div class=\"c-text\">\n<p>Among the factors that influence cell growth\u2014initial seeding density, culture vessel rotation speed, and medium gas-liquid ratio\u2014the student selected the gas-liquid ratio, which is generally considered the most difficult to control.<\/p>\n<p>The student formulated hypotheses and verified them through hands-on practice. By engaging with data such as morphological changes and proliferation rates of the spheroids and repeating a process of trial and error, he experienced firsthand the thinking process unique to researchers. Even when results did not turn out as expected, he gained hints through dialogue with our researchers and took steps forward independently. We shared how research connects to society and conveyed the pride we take in our profession.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"c-image -r\"><img class=\"research-diagram\" src=\"https:\/\/www.j-tec.co.jp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/Initiatives02.webp\" alt=\"Dialogue with researchers\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n<section class=\"c-section\">\n<h2 class=\"c-title l2\">Feedback from the Participating Student<\/h2>\n<div class=\"c-text\">\n<p>\u201cThe experiment on the condition of the cells using CellPet 3D-iPS and varying gas-liquid ratios was a very valuable experience, even though I was unfamiliar with the procedures and could not perfectly control all conditions. I realized that working with living organisms requires the patience to persist and the curiosity to find joy in the process. Also, having the opportunity to experiment directly with iPS cells was a deeply interesting and enjoyable experience. By making the laboratory an open place for learning, we pass on the joy and depth of science to the next generation.
