“CELLFLOAT” is our original and novel 3D cell culture system.
This bioreactor generates shear stress by horizontal rotation, compensating the effect of gravity. The system realizes homogeneous cell growth without sinking, and enable cells to form aggregates that become 3D spheroids.

We propose a Spheroid Subculture Technique using the “CELLFLOAT” system. We call this system JiSS; JTEC iPS Spheroid Subculture.
The grown cell aggregates are passed through a mesh filter to generate fine fragments without using enzymes. This is followed by rotational culture using CELLFLOAT to form 3D spheroids.

This sequential procedure of rotational culture and subculture “JiSS” enables obtaining a large number of the iPS cells by using a combination of CellPet 3D-iPS and CellPet FT. It is a much easier method for scaling up than using the conventional 2D culture.
