“CELLFLOAT” is our proprietary 3D rotational floating cell culture technology. By perfectly balancing the gravitational force on cells with the buoyancy generated from the gentle rotation of the culture vessel, it allows cells to thrive while floating softly in the medium. This versatile system supports a wide range of applications, from spheroids like iPS cells and MSCs to their differentiated cells and organoids.


“J-iSS” realizes efficient expansion and maturation culture of spheroids (cell aggregates) by combining culture using our proprietary three-dimensional rotational suspension culture technology “CELLFLOAT” with our original “cell fragmentation technology.” This “cell fragmentation technology” is a method of physically dividing cells without using enzymes or other chemical agents during passage procedures. By alternately repeating these two processes, the system enables expansion culture and maturation culture of three-dimensional spheroids. Additionally, this system has a proven track record in spheroid culture of iPS cells and MSCs (mesenchymal stem cells).
The following advantages can be noted compared to conventional passaging methods.

This sequential procedure of rotational culture and subculture “J-iSS” enables obtaining a large number of the iPS cells by using a combination of CellPet 3D-iPS and CellPet FT. It is a much easier method for scaling up than using the conventional 2D culture.
